Band: Kamelot

Album: Karma (2001)

Song: Forever

Genre: Power Metal/Symphonic Metal

Kamelot has been a favorite band of mine, and I’ve been listening to them a lot lately. It’s been awhile, but it’s been fun to revisit some of their albums. “Forever” is probably one of their more popular songs, and definitely a favorite of mine. It’s basically about someone who lost someone precious to them, and how much they long to be reunited again.

The song is definitely very relatable. Do any of you feel that way? Is there someone who passed, or is no longer a part of your life, that you miss??? I think we all have at least one person, if not multiple people like that. The transience of life can be a bummer, but it is a great reminder to make the most of the time we have, and enjoy the people we love, while we have them.

The Winds Of Change, They Are A Blowing

Well, it’s time for that life update! So, what could it be? What is this change that could bring about greater things in my life? Well, it’s something very simple, yet can have such a profound effect on one’s life! If you guessed that I’m moving, then ding ding ding, you’re correct!

A move in and of itself doesn’t guarantee greater things, but it can open up new opportunities. I’m still going to be in Texas, but not in sleepy little Sanger anymore. Instead I’ll be in the Austin area; Round Rock to be exact. Austin is really booming right now, and there will definitely be a lot of opportunities down there, potentially.

What precipitated the move was Time Warner Cable (Where my dad works) getting bought out by Charter. They’re Spectrum now, and my dad had to be willing to move or find another job. One of Spectrum’s sites is in Austin, and that’s where he’ll be working starting in September.

Since I still live with my parents, this move obviously impacts me, but I’m happy about it. I don’t really have anything here. There’s no job, school, girlfriend, or friends tying me down to this area. So, I’m ready to go!

As you can imagine though, things are starting to get hectic in preparation for the move. It’s hasn’t been easy, and it’s going to get more crazy. But, I believe the end result will be worth it.

The thing is, we won’t be moving into our permanent residence right away, since it’s being built. We’ll be in temporary housing for at least two months, and most of our stuff will be in storage for the same amount of time. In essence, we’ll be in limbo for awhile, until the house is finished. And then my sister Kelly won’t be there with us for awhile, but that’s another story. My other sister Ariel will have to start school while we’re in temporary housing, which is gonna be hard. So, it will definitely be challenging times, probably for the rest of the year. There’s a ton of uncertainty, but I’m certain we’ll pull through it.

For me, there’s several reasons why this move is exciting!

1. Simply because it’s a new place.

It really is a simple thing, but our surroundings can have a huge impact on us. Being in Sanger had its good moments, but there are a lot of bad memories I can associate with this place. It’ll be nice to start fresh in a new area, with new people, and new opportunities.

2. Austin is booming.

Austin is one of the hottest spots in the whole country right now, let alone Texas. People are coming from all over the place to move down there, for the opportunities that are there for the taking.

3. I’m ready to move forward with my life.

I really feel like it’s finally time. You know, I’m thirty now, and I still haven’t really done much with my life. To me, it’s now or never, and I’m tired of the same old same old. I’m ready to push forward in a variety of ways in my life, and blossom like the rose. It’s time to prove any doubters wrong, and fulfill the potential I’ve always had. It’s not going to be easy, and things aren’t going to change over night. But I am determined, let me tell you!!!!!!! And I’m interested in seeing what will happen. The possibilities are exciting for sure!!!

There’s a ton more I could say, but I think this is more than adequate for now. I wasn’t kidding when I promised a life update. And I did end up writing more than I had planned, but you guys deserve it! I really appreciate all the support from those that follow me. People like Marica, Feyenigma, Kim, Lucas, and all of my followers, are the salt of the earth. I can’t express enough thanks, especially considering that I’m absent so much on here.

But, hey, three entries this month is good, right??? LOL!!! So, thank you so much!!! I hope you enjoyed the update, and I will definitely make future updates about my life, as things continue to evolve. I don’t know how active I’ll be on here in the coming weeks and months. But, we’ll see! A huge thank you, to anyone that took the time to read all of this, and let’s soar into the future, together!!!

Happy Fourth & Upcoming Life Update!

I want to wish everyone a happy 4th of July!! May everyone stay safe, and have a great time. I also wanted to make it known, as I’ve shared with a few of you, that I’m going to be making a more personal entry soon. A life update, basically! And it’ll be coming sometime this month.

I wouldn’t call it the most earth shattering change ever, but change is coming, indeed! It’s really what could come out of this event, and not the event itself, that’s more significant. But, something has to get the ball rolling, and that’s exactly what is getting ready to happen.

I was thinking of making this upcoming entry pretty big, but I think I’ll try to get straight to the point. Life’s getting ready to get more busy and hectic, so I don’t know if I’ll have the time to make something more elaborate. I also don’t know if I want to make such a huge entry anyway, but we’ll see. Once I start writing it, who knows where I’ll go with it. Don’t hold me to any promises made, LOL!!! 😀

Once again, I wish everyone a happy fourth, and please look forward to the update!

With Love,

J.E. ^_^v

Happy 2017!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!!! I hope 2017 will be a wonderful year for all of the lovely people on here. May the highs be amazing, and may we all find the strength to overcome the lows that will surely come as well. I haven’t forgotten about the poem, as that’ll be the next post. Take care everyone, and all the best to each and every one of you!!!

Bad News

I really didn’t want my first post in almost a year to be a sad one, but fate can be quite cruel unfortunately. I found out that my Uncle Junior died in a tragic accident at his work this past Tuesday. And, yeah, it’s hitting me hard. It just came out of nowhere, and the sad part is that it almost certainly could have been prevented. It wasn’t his fault, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was just doing his job, and just like that, he’s gone now.

I don’t claim I was the closest to him, but I knew him pretty well. He was a really nice guy, who went the extra mile for his family. He was never stuck up, and was easy to approach and talk to. He’s really going to be missed.

He leaves behind a long-time girlfriend, and three adult kids, and a slew of grandchildren. I feel so terrible for all of them. He was only 55, and had plenty of life left in him. Keep them all in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever you’re willing to offer. I really do appreciate it. And do the same for me, and my whole family as well.

It’s just so sad, and we’re all so stunned. Wish us all the best, and thank you for taking the time to read all of this. Take care everyone, and show those you care about how much you love them. Not out of fear of losing them, but enjoying them while you have them. Nothing is guaranteed, so make the most of the time you are given. All the best to all of you guys!

New Camera

Well, here it is!

New Camera

It’s a Sony Alpha a5000! I’ve been very interested in Sony’s mirrorless line of cameras for awhile now, and I’m so happy to have one now. At the beginning of August my family went to San Antonio. I really wanted to go, but I wasn’t really feeling physically up to going. I knew that it’d be easier for them if I stayed, because they needed someone to watch the house. Besides that, it also enabled my dad to take the truck. If all five of us went, he would have had to rent a vehicle. The van can hold five, but their issue with taking that I think was the ac not being cool enough.

So I decided to stay, but I asked my parents for three things. Two were very minor, but the last was this camera. All I wanted was for my dad to help me pay for the rest. I already had more than half of the money that was needed for this camera, but he generously paid for the whole thing! I was very happy to say the least, and now I have this lovely new camera!

I’ve had it for a little over a month already, and have taken a little over five hundred pictures with it. I’ve already put up some pictures I’ve taken with it on Flickr already! The image quality is a huge leap up from my Nikon Coolpix S9100! I’m already very familiar with the menus on this camera, though I still like to fiddle around with it. It takes pictures in low light much better than my previous camera. I don’t have to use the flash at all, even though all I have right now is the kit lens. I definitely think my photography can grow a lot with this little gem.

Next entry, I’ll share a picture from my new camera, so you can see the difference!

I wanted to…

I wanted to make a more proper entry talking about some of the things that have been happening to me lately, but things have been crazy tonight with all the rain. I’ll talk more about that later, but I just wanted to say that I’m still alive in spite of the lack of entries. I have several new entries planned, so hopefully I’ll be able to make them soon! Hope everybody is okay, and remember that I’m wishing the best for all of you always!
